Goddess Saraswati Worship at Sona Devi University

On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, Sona Devi University reverberated with joyous celebrations as the campus witnessed the worship of Goddess Saraswati. The event, held on 14th February 2024, marked a significant cultural and spiritual milestone for the university community.

Amidst the festive ambiance, the ceremony commenced with the installation of the idol of Goddess Saraswati, accompanied by traditional Vedic chants, rituals, and a havan conducted by the university’s esteemed priests. The entire university premises were adorned with vibrant decorations, reflecting the spirit of the occasion.

Highlighting the participation of the university’s vibrant student community, a dedicated selfie point and a beautiful rangoli portraying the divine image of Goddess Saraswati were set up at the entrance. This added an extra charm to the festivities, capturing the essence of the occasion.

The esteemed Chancellor of Sona Devi University, Mr. Prabhakar Singh, along with Vice-Chancellor Mr. JP Mishra and Registrar Mr. Gulab Singh Azad, graced the event with their presence, actively engaging in the aarti and worship rituals dedicated to Goddess Saraswati.

The celebration witnessed the presence of distinguished personalities, including BJP women leader Dr. Sunita Devi, and renowned social worker Kaliram Sharma, alongside representatives from various departments of the university. Together, they paid their respects to Goddess Saraswati, symbolizing reverence and devotion.

Adding to the spirit of the occasion, notable social workers Nirmal Jhunjhunwala, Siddharth Jhunjhunwala, and Dr. Ratna Mukherjee, along with representatives from the Lili Foundation, Babbin Choudhary, Ankita Kumari, university teacher Anusua Rai, Pooja Tiwari, and Krishna Pradhan, joined the gathering, embracing the cultural significance of Basant Panchami.

The Basant Panchami celebration at Sona Devi University exemplified the essence of tradition, spirituality, and academic fervor, uniting the university community in a spirit of joy and reverence.
