SDU and Sadar Hospital Collaborate to Combat Filariasis Disease in Ghatsila: Health Camp 2024

Sona Devi University (SDU), in collaboration with Sadar Hospital, Ghatshila, organized a Health Camp on February 27th, 2024, at the university campus aimed at eradicating Filariasis disease from the region. The initiative was part of SDU’s ongoing commitment to promoting community health and well-being.

Filariasis, a debilitating disease caused by parasitic worms, poses a significant health threat in the region. In an effort to combat this disease, SDU partnered with Sadar Hospital to administer tablets for complete eradication.

Dr. Rajendra Nath Soren, Incharge of Sadar Hospital, Ghatshila, spearheaded the initiative and was present at the health camp alongside SDU officials. The collaborative effort between the hospital and the university underscores the importance of community engagement in addressing public health challenges.

“We are proud to partner with Sadar Hospital in this important endeavor to eradicate Filariasis disease from our community,” said Mr. Prabhakar Singh, Founder & Chairman at SDU. “By providing access to preventive measures and healthcare services, we aim to improve the health outcomes of our local population.”

The health camp witnessed active participation from community members, who received medical consultations and were provided with the necessary medication to combat Filariasis. The event also included awareness sessions on disease prevention and health promotion.
