Serving Humanity: 32 Patients Undergo Eye Surgery in Memory of Late Sona Devi

Jamshedpur, January 28th: The inauguration of the 708th eye camp operation session, organized by the Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum, in collaboration with the Ram Manohar Lohia Eye Hospital, Chimanlal Bhalotiya Service Institute, Rajasthan Seva Sadan, and the District Rural Health Committee, witnessed the esteemed presence of Mr. Prabhakar Singh, Chairman of the Sona Devi Memorial Educational Foundation Trust, alongside Mr. Vijay Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum, and social worker Chandramohan Singh. The event was jointly inaugurated by Mr. Prabhakar Singh and Mr. Balmukund Goyal, Chairman of the Ram Manohar Lohia Eye Hospital.

During the session, Dr. B.P. Singh, Dr. Bharati Sharma, Dr. Poonam Singh, Dr. Vivek Kedia, along with their medical team, successfully performed surgeries and lens implantations for 32 eye patients.

In attendance were also Red Cross workers Rakesh Mishra, Prakash Mishra, Raju Bind, Rakesh Mohan, and Prakashbhanu. Tomorrow, Monday, the bandages of the operated eye patients will be removed, and they will receive necessary medication, glasses, and advice on eye care before discharge.

The Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum, has once again received state-level recognition for its commendable work. During a meeting at the Beating the Retreat at Home program held at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi after Republic Day, His Excellency Governor Mr. C.P. Radhakrishnan commended the humanitarian efforts of the organization, particularly in the field of blindness prevention. He expressed his desire to participate in the foundation laying ceremony of the eye hospital soon after the land is acquired.

During this event, Honorable Speaker of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Mr. Rabindra Nath Mahato, and Principal Secretary to the Honorable Governor, Dr. Nitin Kulkarni, were also present.
