Today, a tree plantation program was organized at Sona Devi University under the auspices of Sona Devi University and Ananddhara Mahila Samiti, Ghatsila. The program commenced with the dignified presence of the Honorable Chancellor of Sona Devi University, Mr. Prabhakar Singh, Vice Chancellor Dr. J.P. Mishra, and the President of Ananddhara Mahila Samiti, Mrs. Beatrish Kachap, along with Vice President Mrs. Abha Sen, who initiated the event by planting trees.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. J.P. Mishra highlighted the significance of tree plantation for environmental balance. He mentioned that it is a matter of pride that the forest percentage in our state of Jharkhand is satisfactory compared to other states. He emphasized the need to increase and improve this percentage, noting that forests ensure water, and water ensures life.
The Chancellor of the University, Mr. Prabhakar Singh, urged the students and all present members to take responsibility for the care and protection of at least one plant and ensure its proper growth. He mentioned that witnessing their growth and fruition would bring immense joy and satisfaction.
On this occasion, respected members of the Ananddhara Mahila Samiti, including Mrs. Shikha Rakhshit, Ratna Das, Daisy Rani, Dr. Ratna Mukherjee, Jyotsna Biswas, Bulbuli Sinha, Shubhra Rani, along with all the teachers and students of the university, planted medicinal plants such as Tulsi, Neem, and Amla, as well as various flowering and shady trees.
The successful implementation of the program was accomplished with the cooperation of all students, teachers, and non-teaching staff of the university.
घाटशिला स्थित सोना देवी विश्वविद्यालय में आज पौधारोपण कार्यक्रम का आयोजन सोना देवी विश्वविद्यालय तथा आनन्दधारा महिला समिति, घाटशिला के तत्वावधान में किया गया। कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत सोना देवी विश्वविद्यालय के माननीय कुलाधिपति श्री प्रभाकर सिंह, कुलपति डॉ जे पी मिश्रा तथा आनन्दधारा महिला समिति की अध्यक्ष श्रीमती ब्रिट्रीस कच्छप और उपाध्यक्ष श्रीमति आभा सेन की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति में पौधारोपण के साथ हुआ। इस अवसर पर कुलपति डॉ जे पी मिश्रा ने कार्यक्रम पर प्रकाश डालते हुए कहा कि पौधा रोपण पर्यावरण संतुलन के लिए अति आवश्यक है। यह हमारी खुशनसीबी है कि हमारे राज्य झारखंड का वन प्रतिशत अन्य राज्यों की तुलना में संतोषजनक है। इसे बढाकर और बेहतर करना है क्योंकि वन है तो जल है, जल है तो जीवन है।
वहीं विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति श्री प्रभाकर सिंह ने विद्यार्थियों तथा सभी उपस्थित सदस्यों से आग्रह किया कि हर एक सदस्य एक पौधे की देखभाल तथा सुरक्षा की जिम्मेदारी लें और उनका समुचित विकास सुनिश्चित करें। उनको बढ़ते तथा फलते फूलते देखकर उन्हें असीम आनंद तथा संतोष का अनुभव होगा।
इस अवसर पर आनंदधारा महिला समिति के सम्मानित सदस्यों श्रीमति शिखा रक्षित, रत्ना दास, डेजी रानी, डॉ रत्ना मुखर्जी,ज्योत्स्ना बिस्वास, बुलबुली सिन्हा, शुभ्रा रानी तथा विश्वविद्यालय के सभी शिक्षक तथा छात्र-छात्राओं ने तुलसी, नीम, आंवला जैसे औषधीय पौधों के साथ साथ कई फूलों और छायादार वृक्षों का रोपण किया। कार्यक्रम का सफल क्रियान्वयन विश्वविद्यालय के सभी छात्र,शिक्षक तथा शिक्षकेत्तर कर्मियों के सहयोग से संपन्न हुआ I
