On September 5, 2024, Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, excitement, and warmth by the students at Sona Devi University, Ghatshila, East Singhbhum. The students welcomed their teachers by applying traditional tilak with roli, chandan, and kumkum, offering them flower bouquets and respectfully presenting gifts. After the lamp lighting and Ganesh Vandana, the students organized a variety of colorful and entertaining programs, including dance, music, singing, poetry recitations, speeches, and poster presentations.
The event was graced by the presence of the Chancellor of Sona Devi University, Mr. Prabhakar Singh, Vice-Chancellor Dr. J.P. Mishra, Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Gulab Singh ‘Azad’, Controller of Examinations Mr. Mithilesh Singh, along with principals, professors, faculty members of all departments, and a large number of students. The program was excellently hosted by first-year student Shubhadip Karji. Among the speakers were students Kaushalendra, Kashish Lala, and Mousumi Das, who spoke in detail about the importance of Teacher’s Day, the necessity of teachers, the significance of the Guru, and highlighted the life and contributions of the great thinker, renowned teacher, and philosopher, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Faculty speakers included Prof. Monica Singh from the School of Management, who praised Dr. Radhakrishnan’s immense contributions to education, and Prof. Pooja Tiwari from the School of Engineering and Technology, who spoke about Dr. Radhakrishnan’s role in uplifting Indian culture, politics, religion, philosophy, and strengthening the foundations of democracy.
Chancellor Mr. Prabhakar Singh, in his speech, highlighted the profound thoughts of Dr. Radhakrishnan and defined a teacher as someone who transfers strength from one soul to another. He emphasized that teachers deserve respect and dishonoring them is akin to neglecting development. He advised the students that to gain their teacher’s love, respect, and knowledge, and to become disciples like Arjuna and Aruni, they must remain humble, curious, hardworking, service-oriented, and faithful.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. J.P. Mishra, in his address, told the students that they are the nation’s invaluable treasure and the future leaders of the country. Therefore, they must be disciplined, capable, cultured, and of high character. He stressed the importance of respecting and honoring their teachers, as it is the teachers who guide them from darkness to light, which is the need of the hour.
Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Gulab Singh ‘Azad’ urged the students to learn some of the great qualities of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s life and character. He encouraged the students to emulate Dr. Radhakrishnan by overcoming challenges, working hard to become outstanding students, fulfilling their responsibilities effectively, loving their nation, and living a life of simplicity, humility, and continuous learning. He also urged the faculty members to adopt the qualities of a great teacher, such as hard work, affection for students, humility, faith in God, and become exemplary educators like Dr. Radhakrishnan.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by second-semester student Arpana Sit to all the teachers present, followed by the national anthem, marking the end of the celebration.
सोना देवी विश्वविद्यालय , घाटशिला , पूर्वी सिंहभूम, में आज दिनांक 5 सितम्बर, 2024 को राष्ट्रीय शिक्षक दिवस बड़ी ही धूम -धाम, उमंग एवं गर्म जोशी के साथ छात्र-छात्राओं द्वारा मनाया गया। विद्यार्थियों ने अपने अध्यापकों / शिक्षकों को रोली ,चन्दन- चावल, कुमकुम से तिलक लगाकर उनका स्वागत करते हुए उन्हें सप्रेम पुष्पगुच्छ एवं ससम्मान उपहार भेट किये। दीप प्रज्जलन एवं गणेशवंदना के बाद छात्र – छात्राओं ने नृत्य , संगीत, गायन ,कविता पाठ , भाषण , पोस्टर प्रस्तुति आदि कई एक मनोहारी एवं रंगारंग कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया।
कार्यक्रम में सोना देवी विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति श्री प्रभाकर सिंह, कुलपति डॉ. जे. पी मिश्रा , कुलसचिव प्रो.(डॉ.) गुलाब सिंह ‘आजाद ‘ के साथ- साथ सभी विभागों/ स्कूलों के प्राचार्यगण, प्राध्यापकगण, संकाय सदस्य, अन्य कर्मचारी तथा बहुत बड़ी संख्या में छात्र – छात्राऐं उपस्थित रहे। आज के कार्यक्रम का बेहतर संचालन प्रथम वर्ष के छात्र शुभादीप कारजी द्वारा किया गया। भाषण देने वाले विधार्थियों में कौशलेन्द्र , कशिश लाला , मौसमी दास आदि थे जिन्होंने अपने भाषणों में शिक्षक दिवस के महत्व , शिक्षकों की आवश्यकता , गुरु की अहमियत , विश्व के महानतम विचारक , प्रख्यात शिक्षक, शिक्षाविद , दार्शनिक डॉ. सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन जी के व्यक्तित्व के विभिन्न पहलुओं पर विस्तार से प्रकाश डाला। भाषण देने वाले प्राध्यापकों में प्रबन्ध विज्ञान स्कूल की प्राध्यापिका प्रो०मोनिका सिंह द्वारा भारतरत्न डॉ.सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन जी द्वारा शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में उनके द्वारा दिए गये अप्रितम योगदानों की तथा अभियांत्रिकी एवं प्रौद्योगिकी स्कूल की प्राध्यापिका प्रो०पूजा तिवारी द्वारा भारतीय संस्कृति के संवाहक डॉ.सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन जी के राजनैतिक , भारतीय संस्कृति, धर्म , दर्शन के उत्थान में तथा लोकतंत्र की नींव को मजबूत बनाने में उनके योगदानों की विस्तार से चर्चा की।
सोना देवी विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति श्री प्रभाकर सिंह ने अपने वक्तव्य में डॉ. सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन के महान विचारों का उल्लेख करते हुए शिक्षक को परिभाषित करते हुए कहा कि जिस व्यक्ति की आत्मा से दूसरी आत्मा में शक्ति का संचार होता है वही शिक्षक कहलाता है। उन्होंने कहा कि शिक्षक सम्मान का अधिकारी है तथा शिक्षक / गुरु का अनादर विकास की उपेक्षा है। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों से कहा कि यदि उन्हें अपने शिक्षक का स्नेह , सम्मान एवं विद्या पानी है और अर्जुन एवं आरुणि जैसा शिष्य बनना है तब उन्हें नम्र , जिज्ञासु , परिश्रमी, सेवाभावी एवं श्रद्धावान बनना होगा।
विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति डॉ. जे. पी मिश्रा ने अपने भाषण में छात्र-छात्राओं से कहा कि विद्यार्थी राष्ट्र की अमूल्य धरोहर है तथा वही देश के भावी कर्णधार है , देश की आशा उन पर टिकी है। अतः उन्हें अनुशासित , सामर्थ्य संपन्न , संस्कारी एवं चरित्रवान बनना होगा , उन्हें अपने सभी शिक्षकों का सम्मान एवं आदर करना होगा क्योंकि शिक्षक ही उन्हें अन्धकार से प्रकाश की तरफ ले जाते हैं, यही आज के समय की माँग है।
विश्वविद्यालय के कुलसचिव प्रो.(डॉ.) गुलाब सिंह ‘ आजाद ‘ ने विधार्थियों को डॉ. सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन जी के जीवन एवं व्यक्तित्व से उनके कुछ एक महान गुणों को सीखने हेतु निवेदन किया । उन्होंने कहा कि आप डॉ. राधकृष्णन के जीवन से कठिनाइयों पर विजय पाने , कठिन परिश्रम कर स्वयं को एक प्रतिभाशाली विद्यार्थी बनाने , सुपुर्द जिम्मेदारी को असरकारक तरीके से पूरा करने , राष्ट्र प्रेम एवं देशभक्ति से पूरित हो कर देश का नाम विश्व में गौरवान्वित करने तथा सदैव सरल , विनम्र एवं सादगी पूर्ण जीवन यापन करने , निरंतर सीखते रहने , सभी धर्मो का आदर करने आदि गुणों को अपने जीवन में आत्मसात कर सकते हों। उन्होंने सोना देवी विश्वविद्यालय के प्राध्यापकों से भी निवेदन किया कि वे भी डॉ. सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन जी के जीवन एवं व्यक्तित्व से अच्छे शिक्षक के गुणों जैसे – कठिन परिश्रम कर विद्यार्थियों को पढ़ाना , उनको स्नेह , प्रेम एवं आदर प्रदान करना, विनम्र होना , ईश्वर में आस्था एवं विश्वास रखना आदि को सीख कर उनकी तरह एक श्रेष्ठतम शिक्षक बन सकते हो।
कार्यक्रम के अंत में द्वितीय सेमेस्टर की छात्रा अर्पणा सित द्वारा सभागार में उपस्थित सभी शिक्षकगणों आदि का ह्रदय से आभार व्यक्त किया गया तथा राष्ट्र गान के साथ कार्यक्रम का समापन हुआ
