Ghatshila, 5th June 2024 – Sona Devi University (SDU) marked World Environment Day with a significant tree plantation drive on its Ghatshila campus. This initiative is part of the university’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and fostering a greener future.
The event saw the enthusiastic participation of the university’s founder and chancellor, Mr. Prabhakar Singh, along with Vice-Chancellor Mr. J.P. Mishra and Registrar Mr. Gulab Singh Azad. Joining them were faculty members, administrative staff, and a large number of students, all coming together to plant trees and emphasize the importance of protecting our environment.
In his address, Mr. Prabhakar Singh highlighted the urgent need for collective action to combat environmental degradation and climate change. He stressed that initiatives like these are crucial in instilling environmental awareness and responsibility among the youth, who are the future stewards of our planet.
Vice-Chancellor J.P. Mishra spoke about the university’s dedication to incorporating sustainable practices in its operations and curriculum. “At SDU, we believe in leading by example. Registrar Mr. Gulab Singh Azad expressed his delight at the active participation of the university community. He encouraged everyone to continue contributing to environmental conservation efforts, both on and off-campus.
