School of Social Work & Rural Studies at Sona Devi University Agricultural Sciences was established to impart education on Agricultural Sciences. It’s a venture with a cause of enhancing the State’s self-reliance in the field of quality education in Agricultural Sciences in order to increase agricultural production-productivity with economic growth keeping in view of increasing population and decrease in cultivable land under increased adverse conditions. The institute is following the Norms, Regulation and Syllabus prescribed by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. Indeed, establishment of a Faculty of Agriculture devoted to higher learning exclusively in Agriculture and Fisheries Sciences was aimed to transform State’s traditional subsistence Agriculture scenario into modern scientifically oriented production system.
