Today, the national festival of August 15th was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy at Sona Devi University, Ghatsila. The event saw the participation of all students, faculty members, professors, staff, as well as the Honorable Chancellor of the University, Mr. Prabhakar Singh, Vice-Chancellor Dr. J.P. Mishra, Registrar Dr. Gulab Singh ‘Azad’, along with many distinguished guests, social reformers, and prominent personalities from the region.
The program began with the Honorable Chancellor Mr. Prabhakar Singh hoisting the national flag, followed by the national anthem. A respectful tribute was then paid to all the heroes, great leaders, and martyrs of the freedom struggle, who liberated us from the exploitation, inhuman atrocities, and subjugation of the British. This was followed by a series of colorful performances, including mesmerizing dances, patriotic songs, speeches, plays, and essay competitions, organized by the students and faculty members of the university to mark this historic and auspicious occasion.
Speaking on the theme of Independence Day, “Developed India,” the Honorable Chancellor, Mr. Prabhakar Singh, addressed the gathering, highlighting that today, India has secured a significant position among the developed nations of the world and has achieved comprehensive development in every sector of the economy. As a result, the country has earned and continues to earn immense respect and glory on the global stage. The Chancellor urged the students to cultivate a sense of respect for the nation, live with self-respect, and foster a spirit of patriotism and love for the country. He encouraged everyone to take a pledge to protect the unity and sovereignty of the nation. On this occasion, he asked the students to constantly strive to contribute as much as they can to the nation’s development, to prevent the wastage of the country’s resources, and to work towards making India the “Vishwa Guru” once again.
Prof. Archana Singh from the Department of Agricultural Science inspired the students with her powerful speech, reminding them of the sacrifices of their ancestors. She emphasized the need to fulfill their dreams and desires and to repay their debt by restoring India’s former glory as the “Golden Bird,” “Vishwa Guru,” “Greatest Nation,” and the “Mother of Democracy.”
In conclusion, Dr. Gulab Singh ‘Azad’, the Registrar of Sona Devi University, expressed gratitude to all the students, faculty members, and distinguished guests for their presence at the event. He thanked everyone for attending and appealed to the students to become self-reliant, dignified, true worshipers of freedom, and true patriots, dedicated to serving the nation’s interests throughout their lives.
आज 15 अगस्त का राष्ट्रीय पर्व सोना देवी विश्वविद्यालय घाटशिला में बहुत ही धूमधाम एवं हर्षोल्लास के साथ मनाया गया। इसमें सभी छात्र – छात्राओं, संकाय सदस्यों, प्राध्यापकों, कर्मचारियों के साथ -साथ, विश्वविधालय के कुलाधिपति श्री प्रभाकर सिंह, कुलपति डॉ. जे.पी मिश्रा तथा कुलसचिव डॉ.गुलाब सिंह ‘आज़ाद’ तथा क्षेत्र के अनेक गणमान्य व्यक्तियों, समाज सुधारकों आदि मौजूद रहें।
कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत में कुलाधिपति श्री प्रभाकर सिंह द्वारा राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराया गया तथा राष्ट्रगान के बाद स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के सभी महानायकों, महापुरुषों, शहीदों के प्रति श्रद्धापूर्वक मस्तिष्क झुकाकर श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की गई जिन्होंने हमे अंग्रेज़ों के शोषण, अमानवीय अत्याचारों, परतंत्रता से मुक्ति दिलाई। इसके बाद विश्वविद्यालय के छात्र- छात्राओं, संकाय सदस्यों द्वारा इस ऐतिहासिक पावन पर्व पर बहुत ही मनोहारी नृत्य, देशभक्ति पूर्ण गीत-संगीत, भाषण, नाटक, निवन्ध प्रतियोगिता आदि कई रंगारंग कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया गया।
स्वतंत्रता दिवस के थीम ‘विकसित भारत’ पर बोलते हुए विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति श्री प्रभाकर सिंह ने उपस्थित जन समुदाय को कहा कि आज भारत ने विश्व के विकसित देशों की सूची में अपना अहम स्थान बनाया है तथा देश ने अर्थव्यवस्था के प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में चहुँमुखी विकास किया है, इसके परिणाम स्वरुप देश को विश्व में बहुत ही मान – सम्मान एवं गौरव प्राप्त हुआ है और हो रहा है। कुलाधिपति महोदय ने छात्र-छत्राओं को देश के प्रति सम्मान की भावना रखने, स्वाभिमान से जीने तथा अपने अन्दर राष्ट्र प्रेम, देश भक्ति की भावना विकसित करने को कहा तथा देश की अखण्डता, समप्रभुता की रक्षा करने का संकल्प लेने को कहा। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने छात्र-छत्राओं से कहा कि उनको हमेशा यह प्रयास करना चाहिए कि वह देश के विकास में किस तरह ज्यादा से ज्यादा योगदान दे सकते हैं ? देश के संसाधनों की बर्बादी को कैसे रोक सकते है ? हिन्दुस्तान को वह कैसे फिर से विश्व गुरु बना सकते हैं ? कृषि विज्ञान विभाग की प्राध्यापिका श्रीमती अर्चना सिंह ने अपने जोशीले भाषण से छात्र- छात्राओं को प्रेरित करते हुआ कहा कि हमें अपने पूर्वजों की कुर्बानियों को याद कर उनके सपनों को, उनकी ख्वाहिशों को पूरा कर उनके क़र्ज़ को चुकाना होगा तथा भारत की पुरानी शानो शौकत “सोने की चिड़िया” , “विश्व गुरु”, “महानतम राष्ट्र”, लोकतंत्र की जननी” को पुर्नस्थापित करना होगा। कार्यक्रम के अंत में सोना देवी विश्वविद्यालय के कुलसचिव डॉ.गुलाब सिंह ‘आज़ाद’ ने सभी उपस्थित छात्र – छात्राओं, संकाय सदस्यों, गणमान्य व्यक्तियों का आभार व्यक्त करते हुए इस पर्व पर पधारने हेतु उन्हें धन्यवाद दिया तथा छात्र – छत्राओं से अपील की कि वे स्वावलम्बी बने, स्वाभिमानी, सच्चे अर्थों में स्वतंत्रता के उपासक तथा सच्चे देशभक्त बनें तथा राष्ट्र हित के लिए आजीवन कार्यरत रहें
